Meso Training Readiness

Last updated 11 July 2026. This page explains who Meso is designed for and what the evidence says about the age at which resistance training is appropriate. It is general information, not medical advice.

Who Meso is for

Meso is designed for adults. Resistance training is safe for teenagers too, but Meso is a self-directed hypertrophy program that pushes progressive overload toward the harder end of each set, so if you are under 18, and especially under 15, we recommend starting under the guidance of a qualified coach, with the agreement of a parent or guardian and a health professional. Get comfortable with good technique on the movements before chasing heavier loads.

What the evidence says

In short: the limiting factor is not a hard age, it is supervision, technique, and physical maturity. For an unsupervised hypertrophy app, mid-teens and up is the sensible starting point, with younger or less experienced lifters getting hands-on guidance first.

Not medical advice

Meso provides training guidance, not medical advice. Consult a health professional before starting a training program, particularly for a young person or anyone with a health condition or injury.
