Common questions
- How does the free trial work? Your first mesocycle is free. After that, Meso Pro unlocks longer programs and continued training, as a monthly or annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. The price shows in your local currency in the app before you buy, and you are never charged for the first block.
- How do I restore Meso Pro on a new phone or after reinstalling? Open the app, go to Settings, and tap Restore purchases. Your Meso Pro access, subscription or lifetime, is tied to your Apple Account, so it comes back once restored.
- How do I manage or cancel my subscription? Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple, not by us. In Meso, open Settings and tap Manage subscription. Or, on your iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, then Meso. Either way you can change or cancel it there. A lifetime purchase is paid once and never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.
- Is my training backed up to iCloud? Yes, if you are signed in to iCloud. Meso keeps a private copy of your training in your own iCloud account, and Settings shows when it last saved. Reinstall Meso, or open it on a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple ID, and your training comes back, with Meso Pro. Apple limits this storage to about 1 MB, so on a very long history the iCloud copy keeps your most recent blocks; a backup file keeps everything. Delete all data in Settings removes the iCloud copy too.
- How do I save a full backup or move it myself? In Settings, tap Back up my data to save a file (to Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop or email), then use Restore from a backup file on the new device to load it. The file holds your whole history, so it is worth saving one before you change phones.
- How does training with a friend work? Both of you need Meso on an iPhone, close together, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on. One of you taps With a friend on the Train tab and chooses Share my workout; the other taps With a friend and chooses Join a friend, then accepts. You each log your own sets and see the other's as they land. Lifts you both do count toward your own progress; their extra lifts are logged without changing your program. If it can't connect, check that Local Network access is allowed for Meso in the iPhone Settings app.
- Why isn't my rest timer on the Lock Screen? The Lock Screen and Dynamic Island countdown needs iOS 17 or later and the Rest timer turned on in Meso. If it still does not show, open the iPhone Settings app, tap Meso, and turn on Live Activities.
- How do I stop the screen staying on while I rest? In Meso, open Settings and turn off Keep screen on while resting. Your phone will then lock on its usual schedule between sets.
- How do challenges work? Each month has a target sized to your plan, and every lift where you beat last week's best set counts toward it. Special days like Halloween and Christmas Day are earned with one finished session. Your badges live on the Performance tab, and you can turn challenge reminders on or off in Settings.
- Is my data private? Yes. Meso is local-first. There is no account and no server of ours. Your training data stays on your device, plus a private copy in your own iCloud that we cannot see, and it only goes anywhere else if you export a backup file yourself or share a workout with a friend nearby. See our privacy policy below.
- Who is Meso for? Adults training for muscle growth, in a gym, at home, or with bodyweight only. See our training readiness note below for guidance on age and getting started.
